Good Earth Gardens and Berries is operated by John, Pamela, Anna, Evan and Lucy Griffin (with WWOOFers Marc and Helene from France)
Our story (abridged version):
Pam (Anderson) grew up in Cypress River and attended high school in Glenboro, Manitoba.
John and Pam met and were married while living in Red Deer, Alberta. After Anna was born in 2005, they felt the draw of country life and decided to move to Manitoba.
The brick house and 22 acres of land were purchased in 2008, and the first strawberries were planted. Evan joined the family in 2008, and Lucy in 2010.
In order to support our small farm dream, John works a full-time job in Winnipeg, taking “holidays” to be home during strawberry harvest.
We strive to operate our farm without the use of harmful chemicals, using organic methods. Each year we learn more about how to achieve good result while working with nature.
No insecticides of any kind were used until spring of 2014, when an organically approved product helped us manage a caterpillar population.
Over the past years we have been blessed by many wonderful repeat customers, employees and WWOOFers (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms)- volunteers who come to learn about organic farm life by living and working with our family.
We look forward to meeting you!
